Our Facilities
The Greenhills Playgroup operates from an old community hall that is owned by the 1st Greenhills Scouts. We share the hall with the scouts. The playgroup have the hall during the day and the scouts have it at night time.
Kitchen- full oven, fridge and microwave
FREE Tea & Coffee We use only thermal mugs with lids to help minimise the dangers of spills. Some playgroups have a "No Hot Drink Policy" however, we have been able to safely provide hot drinks using these mugs and monitoring them at all times when being used. Groups that would like to have a sup of Tea & Coffee at their session need to arrange to bring their own milk weekly and MUST be responsible for watching their children around them AT ALL TIMES.
Men's and Women's toilets (steps provided for access for little ones- no seat inserts avail for hygiene reasons). For safety and hygiene restrictions... we do not have a change table. Parents need to bring their own change mats and change their children on the floor.
Fully secure, shaded outdoor area- including sand pit, swings, a police climbing vehicle, slide and other play equipment
Large Hall ideal for wet weather play (heated ~2 industrial fans/ there is NO "cooling" in the hall) 2/3 carpeted and 1/3 lino (easy clean up at food or craft time.)
Our hall carpets are professionally steam cleaned in April and September each year.
Large storeroom packed with indoor activities, toys and arts & craft supplies used only by the playgroup.
Carparking for more that 40 cars (which we share with the Neighbourhood & Occasional Care Centres plus Kinder)
A central vacuum for thorough and easy cleaning- All groups are required to vacuum the hall after each session.
The hall is cleaned once a week, which includes overall vacuum, wet areas mopped, and the toilets cleaned. Groups are responsible for keeping our hall clean and free from rubbish between cleaning days.
Our toys are cleaned and checked over with the help of a roster system once every term. Each group is assigned toys to clean so the workload is distributed amongst everyone. This ensures our toys are clean and in excellent, safe and working condition at all times.
